But it doesn’t happen on it’s own. It’s a result of making mindful choices (aka conscious decisions). Every. Single. Day. Across all six dimensions of the so called life & wellness wheel.

Half the battle is understanding where you are, where you want to go and which areas of the life need most attention to close that gap.

The other half of the battle is knowing what to do, having a solid plan of action in place and the right mindset to see it through without getting in your own way.

  • encourage you to accept where you are, articulate where you desire to be, and take the necessary steps to close that gap with self-love and compassion;

My secret is that I don’t have a secret. A healthier happier you begins with you making a commitment to prioritize and care for yourself. Once you’ve made that commitment, I work with you to optimize four areas: balanced nutrition, mindful eating habits, holistic self-care, and mindset as we work toward achieving your goals.


Start With a Good Dose of Balanced Nutrition

I teach the evidence based foundational elements of nutrition, blood sugar balance and gut health and how to apply them to feel your best, based on your unique needs and preferences. I don’t provide meal plans or protocols but I work with you to help you understand your body and how to nourish it well.

 

Add a twist of Mindfulness

I coach you to practice the principles of mindfulness, including mindful eating and mindful self-reflection through journaling so you can connect to yourself on a deeper level and tune into your innate signals to improve your health and wellbeing, and your relationships (with yourself, your body, food, and your loved ones).

 

Stir In some Holistic Self-Care

I guide you to cultivate routines that allow you to take some much needed “me time” to recharge and support your nervous system. I will encourage you to incorporate mindful movement into your life, to practice good sleep hygiene and stress management, to set boundaries and prioritize your mental health so you can refill your cup and feel your best.

 

Mix In some Mindset Shifts

We work together to identify limiting beliefs and unsupportive habits that keep you stuck and unable to make progress, including but not limited to all or nothing thinking, the belief that you are not in control of your own life, emotional triggers of eating, mindless snacking, and other beliefs and habits that impact your multidimensional state of wellbeing.

Keep in mind that everyone’s journey is different and how much we accomplish in our time together is highly dependent on where you are today, where you want to be and how willing you are to put in the work to get there.     Anyone can benefit from this kind of support, education and guidance, regardless of their current state of health.

    While we work to identify the root cause of your issues, to better support you, we do not run lab tests nor diagnose, treat or heal any condition.

    Coaching can be used to complement, not replace, the advice of your healthcare provider.

    If you suffer from or suspect that you may have a medical condition, whether it be physical and/or psychological, including but not limited to eating disorders, chronic digestive issues, depression or any other chronic ailments, I urge you to seek out a qualified medical professional for treatment before or during your coaching journey.

  • Sustainable weight loss is a long game and at HolisticNiss quick fix solutions aren’t on the menu.

    Weight loss may be a part of your coaching journey but it is not guaranteed.

    Individual weight loss will depend on genetic and environmental factors, current body weight, life stage, current habits and behaviours, health conditions, and willingness and ability to make changes.

    The ultimate purpose of HolisticNiss coaching is to facilitate habit and behaviour change over the long haul, through a mindful approach to nourishment and self-care.
